Norton Rose Fulbright recognised with ten accolades at Marine Money Deal of the Year Awards 2025

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has been recognised with ten accolades at the Marine Money Deal of the Year Awards 2025, reflecting the firm's continued strength in advising on complex and innovative shipping, offshore and maritime finance transactions worldwide.

The awards recognise the firm's work across a broad range of categories, including bank debt, public debt, private credit, leasing, offshore financings, green transactions and restructuring, and highlight the depth and global reach of Norton Rose Fulbright's maritime and offshore practice.

Norton Rose Fulbright was recognised in the following categories:

  • Bank Debt Deals of the Year: Advised the lender group on Hafnia's US$715 million senior secured revolving credit facility, secured against a fleet of 32 product tankers, which included an uncommitted accordion of up to US$417 million. The team was led by partner Sue Ann Gan.
  • Public Debt Deal of the Year: Advised Yinson Production on the issuance of US$1.168 billion senior secured project bonds to refinance the FPSO Maria Quitéria, operating under a long-term charter offshore Brazil. The team was led by partners Ben Rose, Dan Spencer and Peter Young.
  • Private Credit Deal of the Year: Advised Neptune Maritime Leasing on a US$95 million sale-and-leaseback refinancing involving a fleet of offshore support vessels, supporting the expansion of Neptune's leasing platform. The team was led by partner Evi Platsidaki.
  • Leasing Deal of the Year: Advised SMBC, Société Générale and the lenders on a US$822million financing package ($258m bridge facility and US$564 million JOLCO financing) for Seapeak, considered at the time to be the largest construction and JOLCO financing for newbuild LNG carriers in the maritime sector. The team was led by partner Matthew Bambury.
  • Bank Debt East Deal of the Year: Advised the finance parties on a US$215 million term loan facility to BW Global United LPG India Private Limited. This underpins BW LPG's strategic growth and supports the fleet renewal programme of its Indian subsidiary, while enhancing the group's overall funding cost and liquidity profile. The team was led by partner Sue Ann Gan.
  • Leasing East Deal of the Year: Advised leasing houses on the sale and leaseback financing of six LNG carriers involving Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and CSLNG, with the vessels placed on long-term charter. The team was led by partner Becky Tai, who acted as English and Hong Kong counsel, alongside partner Akihiko Takamatsu, who acted as Japanese counsel.
  • Offshore East Deal of the Year: Advised ABN AMRO, as documentation bank on behalf of a syndicate of leading international banks, on the successful closing of a US$1.2 billion asset-backed debt facility for the refinancing of FLNG Gimi. The team was led by partners Richard Howley and Andrew Williams, with support from partner Sue Ann Gan and US Head of Transport Brian Devine.
  • Offshore Bank Debt Deals of the Year: Advised on Tidewater's US$250 million senior secured revolving credit facility, supporting the company's offshore vessel operations. The team was led by partner Josh Agrons, with assistance from counsel Kassandra Savicki and associate Mitchell Benson.
  • Offshore Green Deal of the Year: Advised DNB Bank ASA on the EUR 675 million financing for the construction of Cadeler's newbuild, state-of-the-art A-Class offshore wind turbine installation vessels by COSCO in China. The team was led by EMEA Co-Head of Asset Finance Yianni Cheilas, with support from counsel Nicholas Papadopoulos.
  • Offshore Restructuring Deal of the Year: Advised in connection with Bourbon's completion of its financial and capital restructuring, a complex cross-border restructuring involving multiple stakeholders. The team was led by partners Christine Ezcutari, Charlotte Winter and Ieronymos Bikakis, with support from senior associate Alexandra Mikelis.
