The holidays are here and Pearland Parks and Recreation wants to celebrate the festive spirit with you! The Hometown Christmas Festival will take place on Friday, December 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. Following the festival, the Annual Hometown Christmas Parade will be hosted on Saturday, December 5 at 6 p.m. Admission to both events is free.
Hometown Christmas Festival
The enchanting Hometown Christmas Festival is set to kick off the holiday season at Independence Park (3449 Pearland Parkway) on Friday, December 4. The event features holiday entertainment, snow play, shopping opportunities, musical performances, inflatables, food trucks, and more. A lively stage program will welcome Mayor Wiltz, City Council members, community leaders, and Santa Claus as they help spread Christmas cheer.
Families can experience winter fun at the H-E-B Winter Wonderland, featuring snow slides, snow play areas, and holiday-themed inflatables that bring a touch of winter magic to Texas. Be sure to stay for the dazzling Drone Show sponsored by the University of Houston-Clear Lake at Pearland, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
Capture the magic of the season with the GLAMbot - a red carpet experience sponsored by Quick Snap Events, giving festival attendees a fun and memorable way to commemorate their Hometown Christmas experience.
We are also proud to partner once again with KHOU 11 for the annual Secret Santa Toy Drive benefiting The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. This initiative helps bring holiday joy to children and families in need throughout our community.
Returning this year as a commercial sponsor, ServPro of Friendswood/Pearland continues its support of Hometown Christmas and helps make this beloved holiday tradition possible.
General parking for the Hometown Christmas Festival will be available at Pearland High School, with ADA parking at the Independence Park Liberty Drive entrance opening at 5:30 p.m.
Hometown Christmas 44th Annual Parade
On Saturday, December 5, the parade will traverse FM 518 (Broadway), from Old Alvin Road to Pearland Parkway, welcoming dozens of floats, vibrant marching groups, decorated vehicles, cheerful performers, and even Santa himself, promising an evening of holiday entertainment for all ages.
This year's parade theme, "Red, White and Blue Christmas," celebrates America's 250th year and serves as a festive finale to a year of commemorating this historic milestone. Guests can expect patriotic touches woven throughout the parade as participants showcase their creativity and holiday spirit.
We are also proud to welcome back UFCU for a second consecutive year as the Hometown Christmas Parade Presenting Sponsor. Their continued support helps keep this cherished community tradition free and accessible for families throughout the region.
"After seeing the Pearland community come together for such a wonderful event last year, we're excited to be part of the Hometown Holiday Parade again," said Derion Jackson, UFCU Director of Business Development and New Partnerships. "As a people-first credit union, we believe being part of a community means showing up, building relationships, and supporting the traditions that bring people together. We're proud to invest in the Pearland community and help make this celebration special for local families."
