WWU's Western Americana Music Group performs this weekend at the Northwest Folklife Festival

WWU's Western Americana Music Group will play two sets at the 55th annual Northwest Folklife Festival this Sunday, May 24 at the Seattle Center.

The Northwest Folklife Festival runs from Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25 and features over 4,000 performers across 25 stages. It is recognized as the largest community-powered folk festival in North America and hosts over 250,000 attendees each year, according to Sound Transit.

WAM will be performing at 12:10 p.m. on Sunday at the Fisher Green Stage for a bluegrass jam performance and will lead a jam session at 4 p.m. at the Jam Tent. The full lineup can be found in their online festival guide.

Northwest Folklife is a 501 (c)(3) heritage association which celebrates diversity in arts, culture and traditions in the Pacific Northwest, said Krista Orejudos, the communications coordinator at Northwest Folklife.
