Minnesota State Moorhead is expanding access to artificial intelligence education with its AI Literacy Digital Badge, a flexible, online program designed to help working professionals confidently and responsibly use AI tools in everyday work.
The program provides a practical, non-technical introduction to artificial intelligence with a strong emphasis on generative AI, ethical use, and real-world application. The badge is ideal for professionals across industries seeking to build AI fluency without a programming background.
"These courses are about more than learning AI - they are about helping people move forward in their careers with confidence and practical skills they can use right away," says Dr. Robert Nava, Dean of Graduate Studies and Extended Learning.
Thanks to funding from the Good Jobs Challenge at the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber, eligible participants - including residents of North Dakota and 27 Minnesota counties - may complete the program at no cost, a value of more than $4,000. The initiative supports workforce development in priority industries such as advanced manufacturing, agriculture and food production, and cybersecurity and information technology.
Participants must complete both courses to earn the digital badge:
Learners may enroll in Part A only (priced at $2,985 without funding) or both courses (priced at $4,175 without funding). Part A opens on May 18 and rolling enrollment is available through July 10.
