Met Department issues Tropical Storm Warning for the Central Bahamas and Tropical Storm Watch for the Northwest Bah

The Disaster Risk Management Authority held a press conference at their offices, today, September 26, 2025 during which Met Department Director Jeffrey Simmons reported tropical disturbance Invest 94L is expected to become a tropical cyclone.

NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Disaster Risk Management Authority held a press conference at their offices, today, September 26, 2025 during which Met Department Director Jeffrey Simmons reported tropical disturbance Invest 94L is expected to become a tropical cyclone during the next day or two and affect portions of the Central Bahamas (Long Island, Exuma & Cays, Cat Island, Rum Cay, San Salvador and Ragged Island) and Northwest Bahamas (New Providence, Andros, Eleuthera, Berry Islands, Abaco, Grand Bahama); so a Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Central Bahamas and a Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the Northwest Bahamas. Residents should prepare for Tropical Storm conditions. The system is expected to stay on the eastern side of the archipelago. Tropical Storm conditions are expected within 36 hours for the Central Bahamas; and within 48 hours for the Northwest Bahamas.
