Lancaster, CA. September 30, 2025 -- The City of Lancaster is proud to announce the launch of Love Your City, a new community-wide initiative that unites residents, local organizations, and churches to strengthen Lancaster through service, collaboration, and shared pride. Supported by City resources, the program empowers the community to lead projects that keep Lancaster strong, clean, and connected.
"Love Your City is about neighbors taking the lead to create real, lasting change," said Vice Mayor Crist. "When residents, churches, organizations, and the City work together, we're not just cleaning streets-we're building a stronger Lancaster and shaping the community we all want to call home."
The first Love Your City Community Clean-Up takes place this Saturday, October 4. It will bring neighbors together for a day of hands-on work and shared purpose. Volunteers will tackle cleanup sites across the area between 10th and 20th Street West and Avenue K to Avenue J-8, removing trash, bulky items, e-waste, and more.
All are welcome to participate! Volunteers should register in advance and meet at Grace Chapel for check-in at 8:30 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for walking and outdoor work. A free lunch will be provided at 12:30 p.m.
As part of the neighborhood clean-up, teams will gather and dispose of:
-
Accepted items: e-waste (TVs, computers, appliances), mattresses, tires, furniture, bulky items, batteries, household trash, and more.
-
Not accepted: chemicals, propane tanks, sharps/medical waste, paint, or carpet.
-
See the full list when registering.
Registration is required. Sign up today at cityoflancasterca.gov/loveyourcity.
Love Your City is part of the broader TeamUp Lancaster program, launched in 2024, which provides tools, support, and resources for community-led efforts across the City. Together, residents and partners will continue to create lasting impact through clean-ups and other service projects throughout the year.
