AHA responds to RFI on diagnostic imaging interoperability from ASTP/ONC

The AHA March 16 responded to a request for information on diagnostic imaging interoperability from the Assistant Secretary for Health Information Technology/Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. The AHA expressed support for the agency's efforts to transition from physical media to an electronic data exchange and urged the agency to develop reasonable glidepaths for certification standards and timelines to support the transition. The AHA also urged ASTP/ONC to develop education and technical assistance to support imaging interoperability, which would support workflow redesign. Finally, the AHA urged the agency to host listening sessions to capture feedback on current imaging workflows and requirements across radiology and specialty areas.
