Motorists traveling on State Route 93 in Sullivan County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will affect traffic.
Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 10, State Route 93 will be temporarily closed between Murrell Road and State Route 347 (Lone Star Road/Mill Creek Road) as crews complete grading work near Derby Drive. Local traffic will be permitted, but southbound traffic will not be able to access Derby Drive. Those motorists will be detoured to I-26 and I-81 to bypass the work zone.
This closure will be in place until 6 a.m. on Monday, July 13.
As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and "Know Before You Go!" by checking travel conditions before leaving for their destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel.
