VIENNA, 19 February (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Malta to the United Nations (Vienna), Francesca Camilleri Vettiger, presented her credentials today to the Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), John Brandolino.
During her career, Ms. Camilleri Vettiger, who is also Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and other International Organizations in Vienna, has served in various capacities, among them:
Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Malta to the Council of Europe and President of the Executive Committee of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, France (2023-2026); Deputy Permanent Representative and First Counsellor, Permanent Representation to the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, France (2020-2023); Counsellor, Permanent Representation to the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, France (2019-2020); Coordinator for International Human Rights Law matters, Directorate General Global Issues, International Development and Economic Affairs, Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion (2019); Senior Policy Officer to the World Trade Organization, Permanent Representation of Malta to the United Nations and other International Organizations, Geneva (2016-2017); and Coordinator for Legal, European Union and Local Parliamentary Affairs, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European Affairs (2015-2016).
Ms. Camilleri Vettiger holds a Master of Science in Global Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine within the University of London and a Master of Laws in Public International Law, from Utrecht University, Netherlands.
She speaks English and Maltese.
