The Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and Poland Rumen Radev and Donald Tusk had a meeting today where they discussed the potential to further boost bilateral economic and investment partnership. They talked within the high-level international Ukraine Recovery Conference which is hosted this year by the Polish city of Gdańsk. High technologies, high value-added industries and infrastructure development were seen as particularly promising areas of bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Poland.
Prime Minister Rumen Radev emphasized Poland's sustainable economic development and modernization a contribution to which is made by the exercise of efficient control on the absorption of European funds that should be an example to the countries of Eastern Europe. Prime Minister Rumen Radev noted the good cooperation in defense and expressed Bulgaria's interest to partner with Poland in the maintenance of the Bulgarian F-16 squadron.
In Gdańsk Rumen Radev had a meeting with the European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos; the discussion focused on the construction of the Middle Corridor as a new reliable supply route connecting Europe with the countries in the Caspian Region and Central Asia. The Prime Minister and the Commissioner noted the importance of the excellent top-level bilateral political dialog with the countries in these regions to speed up the construction of the transport corridor.
