Placer County is seeking community feedback on a potential Affordable Housing Priority Applicant Policy countywide. Staff will be hosting a pair of meetings to hear from residents and answer questions about the potential policy, beginning Sept. 30 in North Lake Tahoe and continuing Oct. 2 in Auburn.
Many jurisdictions throughout California are implementing similar tenant preference policies to help prioritize certain applicant groups for affordable housing to ensure local housing needs are met. Preferences could include local workers, current residents, individuals at risk of housing instability or other criteria.
The public is invited to weigh in and share their thoughts on potential priorities at the following in-person meetings:

Staff will gather all feedback from the public and present the findings and a recommended policy to the Board of Supervisors at a later date, before final approval and policy enactment.
