Nacha's Risk Retreat is not your typical learning experience.

"This is a time to be involved in interactive learning. Through immersive, hands-on tabletop exercises, you'll not only learn how to identify and mitigate risk, but also build the confidence to lead through crisis," said Stephanie Prebish, AAP, AFPP, APRP, CTP, Nacha Senior Managing Director, Association Services.

This year's Risk Retreat will be Aug. 5-6, and Prebish said the event aims to arm and prepare attendees today to protect tomorrow. All professionals "interested in learning about how you can protect your organization, and how you can really make sure that you are doing all that you can to protect you and your stakeholders, should attend this unique venue to sharpen your instincts and strengthen your strategy."

With topics including AI-assisted payments fraud, spotting money laundering, and evaluating your risk management plan-plus a tabletop exercise to prepare for a cyberattack-it's a busy two days. Prebish called it "an economical way to make the most out of your fraud fighting preparations." And with new Nacha Rules on risk management taking effect next year, the timing for this summer's event couldn't be better.

"The best thing about it is you will be learning one-on-one from the top leaders in fraud education," said Prebish. You'll not only learn from them, but you'll build relationships with the very people shaping the future of risk management. The faculty includes Kathy Davis, AAP, Program Director, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta; Matthew Luzadder, Managing Partner Chicago Office, Kelley Drye & Warren LLP; and Mark Dixon AAP, AFPP, APRP, CTP, NCP, Senior Consultant, Nacha Consulting Services.

Along with coming away well-prepared to fight the fraudsters, "AAPs and APRPs can earn while they learn," said Prebish, because Nacha's Risk Retreat is approved for up to 10.2 Continuing Education Credits.

This year, the Risk Retreat is at Nacha's headquarters in Reston, Virginia, a mini city with restaurants and shops in the suburbs of the nation's capital. It's accessible by Metrorail, and it's a short hop from Washington Dulles International Airport. It's also an easy ride from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Union Station.
