Mission Viejo’s unofficial election results

Following Tuesday's General Election, Robert "Bob" Ruesch (District 1), Saga Conroy (District 2), Bryan Zahn (District 3), and Steven Thornton (District 5) are leading their respective City Council races, according to unofficial results from the Orange County Registrar of Voters. As of Wednesday, District 4 remains a close contest between James Morrison and Laura Lacko.

To commence the staggering of districts, the newly elected representatives from Districts 1, 3, and 5 will serve four-year terms, while those elected in Districts 2 and 4 will serve two-year terms. Beginning with the 2028 election, Districts 2 and 4 will return to the ballot for full four-year terms.

The City Council is scheduled to officially certify the election results at its December 8 meeting. The meeting will also include the selection of the 2027 Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem as part of the Council's annual reorganization.
