Tustin, CA (June 15, 2026) - Logomark has announced its sponsorship of Penelope, a rescued young shepherd now training through Shelter to Soldier to become a service companion for a veteran.
Penelope, an approximately 2-year-old Malinois Tervuren Shepherd, was rescued from the euthanasia list by the April Star Foundation, one of Shelter to Soldier's newest rescue partners in Orange County. Shelter to Soldier identified her as a strong candidate for service training based on her intelligence, drive, and affectionate temperament.
"Knowing Clive's love for the breed - combined with the Orange County connection - we immediately felt Penelope was meant to be part of the Logomark family," said Nicky Moore, Director of Training and Operations at Shelter to Soldier.
Since entering the program, Penelope has begun building foundational skills and increasing her focus in more distracting environments. Her current training includes handler focus, calmer greetings, and longer down-stays as she works toward her upcoming Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.
"Penelope has shown incredible potential from the very beginning," added Moore. "She's eager to learn, highly motivated, and continues to build the discipline and confidence needed for her future role."
Penelope has officially matched with her handler Xhavier, a United States Navy Veteran who served in hardware support and operational IT. After experiencing anxiety, panic episodes, and chronic nightmares following his service, Xhavier was looking for a partner who could help provide grounding and stability during difficult moments. Penelope has already begun showing what an incredible fit she is for him, and the pair will continue working together as she advances through her training journey.
Logomark's sponsorship supports the adoption, care, training, and placement of rescue dogs through Shelter to Soldier's mission of Saving Lives, Two at a Time. The organization's program currently includes 11 service dogs, 2 therapy dogs, and 1 morale dog in training or active placement. A portion of proceeds from Logomark's Perka®, iCool®, and Work® collections helps fund that work and supports life-changing outcomes for veterans and rescue dogs.
"We are proud to support Shelter to Soldier and the work they do for veterans and rescue dogs," said Clive Goldberg, President of Logomark. "Penelope's story reflects the value of giving rescue dogs a second chance and the meaningful role they can go on to serve."
