Sept. 23 City Council Meeting

On Monday, September 23, 2024, audio from a portion of the DeKalb City Council's Executive Session was inadvertently broadcast on the City's government access cable channel.

Following the broadcast of the meeting's Open Session, a microphone was inadvertently left activated for a portion of the Executive Session. The audio was terminated when the error was discovered.

No laws were violated by the inadvertent broadcast as the matter could have lawfully been discussed in open session. However, since the agenda item related to a personnel matter, the item was lawfully placed on the Executive Session agenda.

The City's employees are a great asset to our community, and we strive to address personnel matters with discretion. The City apologizes for the error.
