VBC 2024-2025 Snow Removal Bid Specifications

The Van Buren County Board of Commissioners is requesting bids for seasonal snow removal for the 2024-2025 snow season at the designated locations per the specifications. To view the full specifications document, click here!

At all locations, specified lots/roads, sidewalks should be cleared of any snow accumulation over two (2) inches; this must be completed 24hrs a day, seven (7) days a week. Snow must be pushed to outer edges of areas to be cleared and sidewalks. Snow at entrances must not exceed two feet to ensure adequate visibility for vehicles entering and exiting lots. Keep all dumpsters clear. Plow all lots and sidewalks when snow reaches 2" or more. Daytime plowing: when 2" or more snow falls during the day, run through all lots, drives, roadways, and sidewalks. All lots/roads and sidewalks must be salted after each plow (snow not to exceed 2" at any time). Before the snowplowing season starts, study and mark problem areas in all lots. Anytime ice is present, salt will be applied at the rate of 3.5 lbs per 1,000 sq ft. Calcium chloride is to be applied to sidewalks & rock salt to parking lots & drives/roads.

Sealed bids for any and all locations will be accepted at the Van Buren County Clerk's Office, Van Buren County Courthouse, 212 Paw Paw St., Paw Paw, MI 49079, until 4:00 PM on September 27, 2024.

All bidders are welcome to attend the bid opening, scheduled for September 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the 2nd Floor Board of Commissioners Room, Administration Building, 219 E Paw Paw St., Paw Paw, MI 49079. Final bid approval will be on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM by the Board of Commissioners.
