Las Vegas City Council To Recognize Local Teacher And Volunteers Assisting In Schools
Citizen Of The Month To Be Recognized
Las Vegas high school teacher Kris Pohl will be recognized at the Aug. 5, 2026, City Council meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of Las Vegas City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.
Ward 2 Councilwoman Kara Kelley will recognize Pohl as the August 2026 Citizen of the Month. Pohl teaches social studies at Del Sol High School.
In addition, Ward 6 Councilwoman Nancy Brune will recognize Dads in Schools, a group of dedicated volunteers who create safer, more supportive school environments where students can thrive. Working alongside school administrators and staff, trained volunteers serve on campuses during times when additional supervision and encouragement are most needed.
Dads in Schools continues to grow as a community-driven initiative.
The council meeting will be broadcast live on city of Las Vegas TV, and on the city of Las Vegas TV YouTube channel.
