Judges elected to judicial office for the first time at the High Judicial Council sessions held on 23 April, 30 April, 7 May and 28 May 2026, took the oath of office today, at the National Assembly, before the National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic and the President of the Supreme Court Miroljub Tomic.
The oath of office was taken by 119 judges of the misdemeanour courts in Belgrade, Valjevo, Gornji Milanovac, Zajecar, Kikinda, Krusevac, Leskovacu Loznica, Mladenovac, Novi Pazar, Novi Sad, Pancevo, Pozarevac, Pozega, Presevo, Prokuplje, Sjenica, Sremska Mitrovica, Subotica, Uzice, Sabac and Kragujevac; commercial courts i Belgrade, Kragujevac, Sremska Mitrovica, Mladenovac and Sombor, and the basic courts osnovnih sudova in Vranje, Gornji Milanovac, Zrenjanin, Knjazevac, Kragujevac, Leskovac, Mladenovac, Pancevo, Petrovac na Mlavi, Sjenica, Trstenik, Sabac, Lebane, Surdula, Bor, Bujanovac, Vrbas, Dimitrovgrad, Zajecar, Ivanjica, Kikinda, Krusevac, Negotin, Novi Pazar, Paracin, Pirot, Pozega, Priboj, Prokuplje, Raska, Ruma, Senta, Smederevo, Sombor, Subotica, Uzice, Cacak and Velika Plana.
The President of the Supreme Court congratulated the newly-elected judges and expressed his belief that as newly-elected bearers of judicial office they will greatly contribute to the continuation of judiciary system reform and advancement of the rule of law in Serbia.
The oath-taking ceremony was also attended by the President of the High Judicial Council Bojana Coguric and Dr Dijana Jankovic, elective member of the High Judicial Council from the ranks of judges.
