Rio De Janeiro Avenue Closure Until Oct. 18

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Oct. 15, 2026) - Rio De Janeiro Avenue from Sandhill Boulevard to Explorer Road is closed for sewer repairs until Sunday, Oct. 18. A detour is in place from Explorer Road to Nomad Road.

The Utilities Department reminds motorists to remain alert at all times and to exercise caution when traveling in the vicinity of construction zones.
