CABEI renews its commitment to transparency as sponsor and speaker at the II International Congress on Open State and Governance

Tegucigalpa, Honduras - July 25, 2025. The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) will participate, for the second consecutive year, as an official sponsor and speaker at the II International Congress on Open State and Governance, to be held on October 10 at the Palacio Europa in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, within the framework of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit. This Congress, organized by the Open Government Academic Network (RAGA) International, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and other allied entities, is a multi-sectoral space for exchanging experiences, research and reflections on the Open State and new forms of governance, bringing together representatives from governments, academia, multilateral organizations, civil society, and the private sector.

During the event, CABEI will make a presentation dedicated to sharing its experience in the implementation of its Access to Information Policy, presenting the progress achieved and the innovative tools it has made available to the public to strengthen accountability. He will also share reflections on the process of formulating its open data strategy. This participation is also part of CABEI's efforts to implement its new Access to Information Policy, which incorporates a commitment to foster greater relations with its stakeholders, thus strengthening channels for dialogue, collaboration and active participation with citizens, governments, and other key actors in the region.

"At CABEI, we firmly believe that transparency is a fundamental pillar for sustainable development. Participating in this Congress is a key opportunity to continue strengthening our institutional practices, generate strategic alliances and build, together with other actors, a more open and just region," said CABEI Executive President Gisela Sánchez. For her part, CABEI's Director for Honduras and Chair of the Communications and Access to Information Committee (CCAI), Belinda Carías Martinez, highlighted: "Our new Access to Information Policy challenges us to be more proactive, closer, and more responsible with the people we serve. This Congress is an ideal space to share, learn and consolidate the Bank's leadership in institutional openness in the region."
