APMA sent letters of support to congressional champions for two important pieces of legislation that would strengthen patient access to foot and ankle care. Representatives Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC), and Tom Suozzi (D-NY) recently introduced HR 8163, the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act, which provides the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) with more flexibility to adjust physician payment while capping the volatility of year-to-year rate changes.
You can urge your lawmakers to cosponsor the legislation using APMA's eAdvocacy Center.
Representatives Mike Lawler (R-NY) and Sanford Bishop (D-GA) introduced HR 7961, the H-1Bs for Physicians and the Healthcare Workforce Act, which would exempt physicians and other health-care providers from the $100,000 fee required for certain H-1B visa petitions.
This recent engagement is part of APMA's ongoing efforts to advance legislation that strengthens the podiatric workforce and improves physician reimbursement.
