I started out at the Galesburg Area Vocational Center. A huge crowd of students and career opportunity exhibitors from local trades groups, farm implement dealers, auto body repair and manufacturers. The students had the opportunity to practice many hands-on opportunities and ask questions of employers. I noticed several new schools attending this year.
After that I attended the Maple City Area Partnership MCAP at Meks On Main. Many local business and community leaders in attendance to hear from Alan and Victor from Clear Profits. Their shared their story of several marketing strategies and successes to include "Judy's" pancakes marketing.
In the evening I attended Sandburg Foundation 2025 Scholarship Reception. Students were recognized as recipients of scholarships and scholarship donors were recognized and thanked for their support. Students had a chance to meet and talk with their sponsor. Always a nice evening.
Sunday Morning I attended the Colona Fire Department Pancake Breakfast. I met the new Chief Wyffel and talked with outgoing Chief Swan. Two great community servants along with the men and women who serve on the Colona Department. The breakfast selection was outstanding….pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy.
