Community Care Center Opens to Expand Access to Community-Focused Care

Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber is pleased to announce the opening of its new Community Care Center, now operating in the former Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic location within the Professional Building. The Center is accessible from Parking Lot F, located off 7th Street.

The Community Care Center supports the Medical Center's mission of providing accessible, community-focused care and offers timely, walk-in primary care for non-emergency health concerns, along with primary, chronic, and supportive care services. Services are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and are provided by Dr. Elliot Smith and Dr. Kavitha Manjunath, with WindberCare Physicians, both of whom are accepting new patients.

"This new Community Care Center helps remove barriers to care by giving our community easier access to walk-in primary care close to home," said Richard Sukenik, Chief Executive Officer at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber. "Our goal is to meet patients where they are and provide timely, compassionate care that supports their long-term health."

The Community Care Center is designed as a flexible care space that allows for the addition of new services and providers over time. Community members are encouraged to utilize the Community Care Center for walk-in and scheduled care needs and to watch for future announcements as services continue to expand.
