Meet Our New V.P. for Academic Affairs

Long-time Professor and HIU alumnus Dr. K.C. Richardson ('92) succeeds Dr. Steve Edgington as our new Vice President for Academic Affairs. The two men worked closely for several months to ensure a seamless transition.

A member of the HIU community since 2007, Dr. Richardson has distinguished himself through excellence in the classroom and vital contributions to our faculty committees. He holds a Ph.D. from UCLA in the History of Religion, specializing in Early Christianity and the first- and second-century church.

Over the course of his career at Hope, he has taught more than twenty different courses, earning the deep respect of his colleagues and students alike, a fact underscored by his receipt of the Rose B. and Edgar B. McReynolds Faculty Excellence Award in 2012.

"Beginning with my time as an undergraduate student, HIU has had a profound influence on my life, helping shape my understanding of what it means to be called to the service of Christ and his Church," says Dr. Richardson. "I am thrilled about the opportunity in this new role to contribute to Hope's ongoing impact on the lives of its students."

Beyond his academic work, Dr. Richardson is an ordained Pastor in the Christian Church and serves as the Congregational President at Woodland Hills Christian Church.
