Sanders Orders Flags to Full Staff in Honor of President Trump’s Inauguration

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS COME - GREETINGS:

WHEREAS: On Monday, January 20, 2025, President Donald J. Trump will take his oath of office and be sworn in as the nation's 47th President;

WHEREAS: America is the greatest country in the world and the peaceful transfer of power that will soon occur from one administration to the next is a hallmark of our democracy;

WHEREAS: The inauguration is an opportunity to celebrate the new President, his administration, and the millions of Americans who united around his message and voted to elect him; and

WHEREAS: Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has announced that flags at the United States Capitol will be raised in honor of the President's inauguration and then lowered again to continue honoring the memory of President James "Jimmy" Earl Carter, Jr., until January 28, 2025, in accordance with President Joe Biden's proclamation on December 29, 2024.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS, acting under the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Arkansas, do hereby order that the United States flag and the state flag of Arkansas be raised to full staff at the Arkansas Capitol and all state buildings from sunrise on Monday, January 20, 2025, on the day of President Trump's inauguration, and then returned to half-staff at sunrise on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, to continue honoring the memory of President Carter.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Arkansas to be affixed this 15th day of January, in the year of our Lord 2025.
