Two faculty members have been appointed Faculty Fellows for Graduate Mentoring and Advising for the 2025-27 term, the Boise State Graduate College announced.

  • Faculty Fellow for Faculty Development: Krishna Pakala, associate professor and associate chair, Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering
  • Faculty Fellow for Student Development: Karen Viskupic, associate professor, Department of Geosciences

The Faculty Fellows program was created to strengthen graduate mentoring and advising, following recommendations from the Faculty Advisory Council on Graduate Mentoring and Advising.

Pakala will focus on enhancing faculty mentoring practices and professional development opportunities. Viskupic will lead student-focused initiatives to support mentoring relationships and graduate student success.

Together with the Graduate College and campus partners, the fellows will advance research-informed mentoring and advising practices that enhance the graduate student experience, support retention and degree completion, and contribute to Boise State's strategic goals.
