Saint Louis University's WATER Institute, the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center, and the St. Louis Aquarium Foundation are co-hosting the 2026 SLU Summit for Water: Water in One Health: The Environmental, Animal, and Human Health Nexus on March 25-26.

The 2026 Summit for Water will be held in person on Wednesday, March 25, at Saint Louis University's Midtown campus, with a second day of programming Thursday, March 26, offered virtually.

Join leaders and experts from academia, industry, nonprofits, and government at the SLU Summit for Water to share ideas, learn about the latest research, and tackle some of the most critical and persistent challenges facing our most fundamental resource: water. The annual SLU Summit for Water will explore the One Health framework, highlighting the deep interconnections between environmental, animal, and human health and how these relationships influence water quality, ecosystem resilience, public health, and sustainability.

The One Health approach recognizes that protecting water resources supports the well-being of people, wildlife, and communities alike. This year's summit will include panel discussions and presentations on topics such as water in wild ecosystems and urban environments, agricultural water use and food systems, and initiatives and policy frameworks that integrate human and environmental health considerations.

The first day of the summit will feature expert panels, networking opportunities, a keynote address, and more, bringing together participants from diverse sectors to exchange insights and foster collaboration. The second day will be held as a virtual webinar, providing an accessible forum for continued engagement and research presentations. The summit is free to attend, but registration is required.
