Zambia Commends Royal Vision, Initiatives in Support of Africa

Thursday 07 May 2026
Zambia's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mr. Mulambo Haimbe commended on Thursday the strategic initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in support of regional integration and development in Africa, highlighting in particular the importance of the Initiative of the Atlantic African States as well as the Royal Initiative for the Sahel.

These initiatives aim to strengthen regional integration, improve connectivity among African countries, and facilitate Sahel States' access to the Atlantic Ocean, the Zambian foreign minister said during a working visit to the Kingdom.

This position was expressed in a joint Communiqué issued in Rabat following talks between Mr. Haimbe and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita.

On this occasion, the two ministers praised the momentum of South-South cooperation spearheaded by the Kingdom, deemed an essential lever for bolstering African solidarity and promoting shared and sustainable development.

They also expressed their shared commitment to strengthening coordination within regional and international bodies in order to further enshrine this cooperation and optimize its impact in the service of the African continent's interests.
