Recuperating War Heroes Visit Sacred Devnimori Relics Exposition

War hero inmates of the Ragama Ranaviru Sevana, Abhimansala, and Mihidu Seth Medura who are undergoing recuperation and rehabilitation, visited the exposition to pay homage to the sacred Devnimori Relics of Lord Buddha at the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo today (08 February).

The Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Hon. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) were also present at the occasion.

The sacred Devnimori Relics of Lord Buddha, was broght to Sri Lanka from India and are being exhibited for public veneration from 04 to 10 February 2026.

The war heroes observed religious rites in the presence of the Maha Sangha.

This visit highlighted the spiritual importance of the exposition and its role in providing comfort, strength and encouragement to the recuperating war heroes, while also reflecting the nation's respect and gratitude for their service.

A large number of senior tri forces officers were also present at the occassion.
