Defendant Sentenced for Shooting at Occupied Vehicle, Injuring Two

On September 22, 2026, the Honorable Michael Sweet sentenced Anthony Gibbs to 31 years and 4 months in prison. On August 21, 2026, Gibbs was convicted by a jury of attempted murder, two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or occupied vehicle and felon in possession of a firearm. The jury also found true a use of firearm allegation and the aggravating factor that the crime involved planning, sophistication or professionalism.
On December 1, 2023, Anthony Gibbs shot a total of at least eight rounds into an occupied car. The front passenger of the car was struck in the cheek. The driver was struck four times, including in the back and shoulder.
