The County of San Luis Obispo invites you to help shape future investments in housing and community development by participating in the 2027 Community Development Needs Assessment.
The County of San Luis Obispo is inviting community members, businesses, nonprofit organizations and community partners to help shape future investments in housing and community development by participating in the 2027 Community Development Needs Assessment.Community feedback will help guide how an estimated $3 million in federal funding is invested in local projects and programs that strengthen neighborhoods, expand housing opportunities and improve quality of life throughout San Luis Obispo County.
The Community Development Needs Assessment is a key component of the County's 2025-2029 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Consolidated Plan, which establishes priorities for investing federal resources in community development. The assessment identifies the county's most pressing needs and helps determine funding priorities for affordable housing, public infrastructure, neighborhood improvements, public services and other community projects.
"The people who live and work in our communities know better than anyone what our neighborhoods need most," said Marge Castle, Program Manager. "Whether your priorities are affordable housing, services for older adults, homelessness, accessibility or neighborhood improvements, your input will help shape future investments across San Luis Obispo County."
The County encourages anyone who lives, works or receives services in San Luis Obispo County to complete the brief online survey. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and will remain open through October 13, 2026.
