~ Eligible applicants can now apply for funding ~
Tallahassee, FL - Today, FloridaCommerce announced $3.1 million in funding available to provide transitional housing assistance for veterans and individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder through the Recovery Housing Program (RHP). The application cycle will be open through Monday, February 17.
RHP funds are allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by FloridaCommerce. These funds assist public or private nonprofit-organizations and units of local government across the state of Florida that prioritize serving veterans in recovery from substance use disorders, but will not exclude organizations serving non-veterans. Eligible uses of funds through the RHP include relocation payments, rental assistance, new construction, acquisition and/or rehabilitation of housing facilities.
FloridaCommerce is committed to assisting veterans and individuals in substance use recovery through the RHP. FloridaCommerce previously awarded funds to the non-profit St. Vincent de Paul, formerly the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition. Since being awarded in 2022, St. Vincent de Paul has served 29 beneficiaries.
Eligible nonprofits and local governments can apply here now through Monday, February 17. To provide technical assistance and an overview of the application process, FloridaCommerce will host a webinar on Thursday, January 16. For additional information and to register for the webinar, visit the RHP webpage.
