Washington, D.C. - Tonight, Congressman Tom Barrett (MI-07) hosted a successful interactive town hall with more than 3,000 constituents over the phone and online from across Michigan's 7th Congressional District. This is Barrett's fourth interactive town hall since taking office, which has allowed him to conveniently connect with over 20,000 constituents no matter where they are.
"I appreciate each and every person who took time out of their schedule to listen in and have a productive conversation with me during tonight's interactive town hall," said Barrett. "My work in Congress is strongly driven by the needs of our community, and getting to hear directly from the people I represent continues to be insightful and motivational. I will continue working hard on their behalf in Washington and look forward to delivering more results they can count on."
During tonight's hour-long call, Barrett provided an update on his recent work in the House of Representatives, including his legislation to limit the military conflict in Iran. He also spoke about his Blueprint for a Better America, a six-part policy agenda to challenge the status quo and take on the most pressing issues facing America and Congress.
The congressman also took several questions on controversial issues including his stance on the Department of Justice's proposed weaponization fund, data centers, Iran, and more.
BACKGROUND:
Barrett has traveled to every county in Michigan's 7th District multiple times in a sincere effort to meet with constituents from all walks of life.
