Judiciary Committee Advances Bipartisan Holocaust Survivor Legislation, North Carolina U.S. Attorney Nominee

WASHINGTON - The Senate Judiciary Committee today voted unanimously to advance the Holocaust Expropriated Art Recovery Act of 2025, led by Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.). Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is a cosponsor. The bipartisan bill would help reunite Holocaust survivors with their stolen artwork by ensuring that their cases are adjudicated on the merits and procedural loopholes don't stand in the way of justice.

The Committee also advanced the nomination of Thomas Ferguson III to be U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, by a vote of 13-9.
