Description
The ad-hoc expert meeting on "Bans of Associations: Legal Safeguards, Strategic Communication and Community Trust" brought together representatives from multiple Member States to examine the evolving role of dissolution measures within contemporary prevention and counter-extremism settings.
Convened in Nice on 21 November 2025, the meeting formed part of Thematic Panel 7 and provided a dedicated space for experts to engage with the legal, operational and communicative dimensions of association bans in the European context. The agenda was structured to facilitate both comparative analysis and practical problem-solving, combining plenary presentations with interactive exercises designed to elicit national perspectives and shared priorities.
