Dover, DE - Today, the Delaware Department of Correction (DOC) announced the launch of its Rehabilitative Programs & Activities Directory, a new printed resource for families, community stakeholders, and policymakers.

The DOC facilitates a wide variety of rehabilitative programs that leverage evidence-based substance use treatment, educational instruction, vocational training, behavioral health treatment and counseling, and restorative justice programs to meet the needs of incarcerated individuals, facilitate their successful reentry, reduce recidivism, and support public safety. The Rehabilitative Programs & Activities Directory is designed to provide clear and meaningful information in one easy-to-navigate source, answer common questions about correctional rehabilitation and treatment programs, and trigger ideas for further collaboration with program providers and community partners. The publication includes a general overview of programs and activities, insights on the use of evidence-based assessments to identify individuals' rehabilitative needs and match each person with programs designed to get at the root cause of their criminal behavior, and the use of "Good Time" to incentivize and reward program participation. It also features a program index and descriptions of programs employed across Delaware prison and community corrections facilities.

"Delaware's dynamic and responsive correctional system is fully committed to our dual mission of public safety and rehabilitation," Department of Correction Commissioner Terra Taylor said. "We are focused, together with treatment, training, and programming partners, on helping incarcerated individuals to achieve and sustain sobriety and to return home with education and training, behavior change and pro-social decision-making, and life skills that provide a meaningful pathway to employment, self-sufficiency, and reentry success. DOC's Rehabilitative Programs & Activities Directory provides important and transparent information as we work continually to serve our community."

The Rehabilitative Programs & Activities Directory was developed jointly by the Community Relations and Planning, Research & Reentry Units in collaboration with correctional leaders and program administrators across the DOC. This new publication follows the November, 2025 launch of the DOC Friends and Family Handbook, a resource developed to provide information for families and friends of incarcerated individuals and help them navigate Delaware's correctional system.
