WLAM 2026 Showed the Profession in Action

PLA Day, proclamations, and member participation helped raise the visibility of landscape architecture.

ASLA Chapter engagement during WLAM 2026

Throughout April, members, chapters, students, and firms showed landscape architecture in action for World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM) 2026.

The month launched with strong momentum on April 1 during Professional Landscape Architects (PLA) Day, generating nearly 400 social media mentions and reinforcing a clear message: licensure protects the public and strengthens the profession.

Across social media, #WLAM2026 highlighted projects, mentorship, advocacy, and the everyday impact of landscape architecture in communities, helping raise visibility for the profession nationwide.

Chapters across the country secured proclamations recognizing World Landscape Architecture Month and PLA Day, helping elevate the profession at the state and local level.

This year also introduced the WLAM Conference Ambassador initiative. Andrea Weber, ASLA, PLA, of the Minnesota Department of Transportation, was named the 2026 WLAM Conference Ambassador and will share her perspective from the ASLA 2026 Conference on Landscape Architecture in Los Angeles. Rachel Meier, ASLA, PLA, was also recognized for her leadership and engagement during WLAM and received complimentary registration to attend the conference.

Thank you to everyone who posted, organized programming, secured proclamations, mentored students, and helped raise visibility for the profession.
