Mount Saint Vincent University is pleased to host Dr. Sarah Elaine Eaton, a sought-after speaker and expert on AI and academic integrity, for the 2026 edition of the President's Visiting Lecture Series on Teaching and Learning.
When: Thursday, March 26, 2026, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where: The Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) on the 3rd floor of the Rosaria Student Centre at MSVU [map]
This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
AI is changing the way we learn and engage; new academic approaches are needed.
In this session, Dr. Eaton will explore how ideas about cheating and plagiarism (or academic integrity) are changing in the age of AI. She'll discuss the ethical challenges and opportunities presented by AI and other advanced technologies, and explain her award-winning "postplagiarism framework", which focuses on how to develop educational practices that consider authorship, transparency, critical thinking and ethical use of AI.
The session will introduce practical strategies for educators, students, and administrators to foster a culture of integrity, ensuring that technology serves as a tool for learning rather than a substitute for original thought and ethical conduct.
