Arlington, Va. - In case you missed it, Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning joined The Hill with Blake Burman to discuss how private capital can help strengthen federal defense investments, spur innovation, and grow America's the defense industrial base. Fanning emphasized that attracting private investment hinges on creating market conditions that signal a clear opportunity for return.

"We're seeing important confluences come together that are incentivizing investment in the defense industrial base," Fanning said. "That's what private sector investors are looking for - signals from the United States government that there's an opportunity for return."

The interview follows the release of AIA's joint report with Bain & Company which found that the shortage of investable opportunities rather than a shortage of capital for defense remains a persistent barrier in replenishing stockpiles and adopting disruptive technology.
