Can Accenture Stock Rise 30% From Here

Accenture (ACN) stock trades at 17.8 times earnings, compared to 22.8 for the median S&P 500 company, despite a 35.9% gain since September 30, 2026. A 30% rise from here depends on whether that discount marks a sound business on sale or a fair price for slower growth. A rise of that size is not new for the stock. It has climbed 30% or more within the year in 7 of the last 10 calendar years. So what does an investor get for 17.8 times earnings?

Accenture Grows Revenue And Returns Cash To Shareholders

An investor gets a growing, cash-rich business. Accenture sells consulting and managed services to enterprises and governments. Its revenue grew 6.5% to $74.2 billion in fiscal 2026. The operating margin was 15.8%, placing it just below the 15.9% peak for the twelve months to fiscal Q3 2018, the highest of any twelve-month period since fiscal 2017.

That profit turns into cash. Free cash flow was $11.6 billion in fiscal 2026, and management said Accenture returned a record $11.5 billion to shareholders. Debt rose to $13.4 billion at August 31, 2026, from $8.18 billion a year earlier, but $12.8 billion of cash nearly matched it. Yet the stock returned about 1% over the twelve months to October 29, 2026, compared to 13.3% for the S&P 500, with October's gain included.

How Fast Is Accenture Growing On Its Own?

Management said Accenture grew about 3% in fiscal 2026 without acquisitions, against 5% in local currency with its purchases counted. The company spent $4.9 billion on 17 acquisitions that year. Reported revenue growth was far faster a few years ago, at 21.9% in fiscal 2022. It fell to 1.2% in fiscal 2024 and rose to 7.4% in fiscal 2025. Reported growth of 6.5% in fiscal 2026 beat the 5.0% average of fiscal 2024 to 2026, but it is nowhere near the old pace.

Accenture also faces pressure on prices. Management said pricing was stable across fiscal 2026 but came in lower in many areas of the business in the fourth quarter. Management also said Accenture is giving clients more AI efficiencies and more than offsetting them with new work. That is the case for the discount: the price appears to assume that AI will cut what clients pay for the same work faster than Accenture can win new work.

Accenture Is Betting On AI Work And Acquisitions

Accenture's response is to build AI work and keep buying growth. It now has nearly 110,000 AI and data professionals, beyond its goal of 80,000 by the end of fiscal 2026. Management said Accenture's revenue from work with its 8 emerging AI and data partners more than doubled from fiscal 2025.

Accenture beat its own plan in the latest quarter. In fiscal Q4 2026, revenue grew 7% in local currency to finish above the top of management's range. Management said small deals and acquisitions in its federal business, among other things, helped that result. For fiscal 2027, management expects revenue growth of 3% to 6% in local currency, with acquisitions adding 2% to 2.5%. On that plan, acquisitions would supply a large share of growth in fiscal 2027.

What A Buyer At This Price Is Betting On

A buyer at $247.22 is betting that Accenture's own business starts growing faster, not that the market has missed a sound business. On today's earnings, a 30% rise would put the stock at about 23.1 times earnings, which is roughly the median company's multiple. When Accenture reports, expected in December 2026, the number to watch is fiscal Q1 2027 revenue growth in local currency against management's first-quarter guide of 2% to 6%.

Does This Mean You Should Act On ACN?

Our purpose is to inform you with unique data so you make the right investment decisions. That said, betting on a single stock is always risky, no matter which direction you choose.

There is a smarter approach. Since its inception, the Trefis High Quality (HQ) Portfolio has returned 105%, beating the benchmark that combines the three major indices - the S&P 500, S&P Mid-cap, and Russell 2000. And it did so without taking the concentrated risk that comes with do-it-yourself stock picking. If that is how you want to invest, the HQ Portfolio is the place to start.
