OG&E welcomes enactment of House Bill 2992

Sean Trauschke, Chairman, President and CEO of OGE Energy Corp., issued the following statement regarding Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt's signing of the Data Center Consumer Ratepayer Protection Act of 2026 (House Bill 2992) into law:

"OG&E today applauds Gov. Stitt and the Oklahoma Legislature's approval of HB 2992, which will protect existing customers from any adverse effects of adding new large load customers to the OG&E system.

In fact, this is the exact proactive approach OG&E took last week in our agreement with Google to power three new data centers. As part of this deal, Google commits to paying 100% of the costs to connect to the grid, as well as its share of the costs for new generation needed to serve its data centers.

This landmark agreement with Google provides the framework for a new large-load tariff that OG&E will submit to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in the coming weeks. This tariff is consistent with HB 2992, and we look forward to working with the commissioners to secure timely approval.

OG&E's residential rates to date are 19% below the regional average, 34% below the national average, and 24% below Texas. To maintain these low rates, OG&E will continue to pursue a forward-leaning strategy that encourages economic growth and protects customers. HB 2992 supports both, and we stand ready to implement it."
