As the women's outdoor track and field team won their first ever Conference of New England championship, the men's team won their second, and the men's and women's lacrosse teams both notched first-round playoff wins-Hawks gathered in Chase Arena last weekend for the athletics department's annual student-athlete awards celebration.
16 awards were presented, submitted and voted on by coaches and support staff.
Michael Novotny '27 and Jordan Murphy '27 were named male and female athletes of the year. Novotny leads the men's lacrosse team in points this season and was selected to the NEILA All-New England Team of the Week. Murphy, a standout in volleyball as well as track and field, was recently crowned a CNE champion in the high jump and secured a third-place finish in the shot put while helping the team score key points on the way to a CNE Championship team title.
It was also a night to celebrate the Hawks' academic achievements. Men's lacrosse and women's softball were the teams with the highest GPA this year-both at 3.79.
Congratulations to all the honorees!
