Gov. Evers Appoints Jeffrey Erickson to the Grant County Circuit Court
MADISON - Gov. Tony Evers announced today his appointment of Jeffrey Erickson to the Grant County Circuit Court - Branch 2. The appointment will fill the vacancy being created by Judge Craig R. Day's retirement. Erickson will complete a term ending July 31, 2027.

"Jeffrey Erickson is a respected attorney with experience representing countless clients in every manner of circumstance," said Gov. Evers. "He will serve the people of Grant County well."

Erickson has been a defense attorney practicing in Grant County for the past 25 years. He is currently the local attorney manager for the Wisconsin State Public Defenders Lancaster office. In this role, he oversees the assistant state public defenders practicing in Southwestern Wisconsin and represents clients in Grant, Crawford, Richland, and Iowa Counties. From 2001 to 2015, he operated Erickson Law Office in Lancaster, where he predominantly practiced criminal defense while also handling family law cases, small claims, bankruptcy, and probate.

"Attorney Erickson brings his dedication to public service and justice with him to the Grant County Circuit Court," said Grant County Circuit Court Judge Lisa Riniker. "His leadership of the public defender's office shows his commitment to ensuring all citizens are treated fairly and with dignity. He is a welcomed addition to the bench."

Erickson lives in the town of Ellenboro and is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He is an active member of the Grant County, Iowa County, and Richland County Criminal Justice Coordinating Committees and serves on both the Richland County and Iowa County Drug Treatment Courts.

"I am grateful to Gov. Evers for giving me the opportunity to serve the people of Grant County as circuit court judge," said Erickson. "For the past 25 years I have had the privilege of being an attorney in Grant County, and I will continue to work to the utmost of my ability to uphold the Constitution and be faithful to the law. I wish to thank all of the people who have supported me throughout my career and shall endeavor to prove myself worthy of their confidence."
