Avista customers in Wallace and Murray to experience a planned power outage

Spokane, Wash. August 19, 2025: Approximately 458 Avista electric customers in Wallace and Murray will experience a planned power outage on Tuesday, August 26. The planned outage will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Impacted customers are located at the end of Nine Mile Road up the Coeur d'Alene River to Shoshone Base Camp.

Traffic control will be in place as the Dopson Pass Road will be closed from the bottom of Dopson Pass on the Nine-mile side to Carbon Center from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Traffic along Coeur d'Alene River Road will not be impacted.

During this time, Avista will be utilizing a helicopter to transport power poles along Dopson Pass. Avista uses helicopters in areas that are difficult to access. Avista crews will be performing maintenance and updates to the equipment in the area. These updates are part of Avista's ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and reliability of its infrastructure.
