Japanese Yen futures surged on suspected intervention.

Japanese Yen futures posted their largest single-day gain in 4 years, rallying 2.75% to reach a 2-month high. The sharp move higher broke a persistent 3-month downtrend that had weighed on the currency since mid-May, pushing prices to their highest levels since June 1. Market participants attributed the surge primarily to potential intervention by the Japanese Ministry of Finance. Broader currency market dynamics also provided support, as the U.S. Dollar weakened across the board in the wake of the Federal Reserve's latest policy messaging. The rally extended across major G10 currencies, with the British pound, euro, and Australian dollar also booking solid gains.
