Statement from the American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society responds to an incident at the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk today at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tennessee:

"We've been alerted that there was a tragic incident at or around the Making Strides event in Memphis today, which has resulted in a loss of life. We are deeply saddened and extend our heartfelt condolences to the victim and her family, and we are working with the authorities as they continue their investigation," according to an ACS spokesperson.
