On February 16, 2026, ReMA welcomed Jacklyn Kozakiewicz Attia as the new Vice President of Membership. Attia has more than 15 years of experience in membership and associations, most recently as Director of Membership, Strategy and Operations for the American Chemical Society (ACS).
ReMA News chatted with Attia about her background and experience in the membership space, why she decided to take this job with ReMA, and what she's looking forward to most about working at the association.
As ReMA's Vice President of Membership, I'll be leading a team that is focused on recruiting new members, improving engagement and retention, and developing new strategies to expand ReMA's global footprint. In this role, I will be identifying ways to deepen member engagement and new opportunities to build on the value proposition for our members. I'm also aiming to drive increased membership growth and revenue for the organization.
I've been working for the past 15 years in associations as a membership leader. Most recently, I worked at the American Chemical Society (ACS) as the Director of Membership, Strategy and Operations where I led a team focused on developing membership acquisition, onboarding, and engagement and retention strategies to drive net growth as well as new value creation.
I'm excited to bring my background and experience in both marketing and membership to ReMA's membership team. I have a global mindset, and I think there's a great opportunity at ReMA to grow more into international markets. I'm also excited about applying my background in strategy and operations to this position at ReMA.
I was attracted to ReMA's mission to promote safe, environmentally responsible, and economically sustainable recycling through advocacy, networking, and education. It's important to me that an organization's mission aligns with my personal values. I was also drawn to the challenge that the role presents. I think it's a healthy challenge and I'm excited to contribute my background and experience working in non-profits to this wonderful organization.
I think there is a good opportunity to look at REMA's value proposition and how well we serve our members. I'm looking forward to collaborating with different stakeholders both internally and externally and partnering across our key divisions within the organization. I'm also excited to interact and partner with our volunteer leaders, drive more robust data-informed decisions, and work to build on the member experience.
I'm coming to ReMA with an open mind and am ready to lean into a new industry. Transitioning into this industry will be a bit of a learning curve for me, which I'm excited about. I have open ears when it comes to what is and isn't working, as well as new ideas for benefits or other ways to provide better value and enhance the member experience.
I did sit in on some of the board meetings, specifically the Membership Committee and the Council of Chapter Presidents. It was a great chance to hear first-hand what our members are thinking about and the types of research and data our staff provide to members, which is useful for informing future strategies. I also had the chance to meet with some of our volunteer leaders. It was a great preview as I prepare for my first ReMA convention in April!
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and traveling as much as possible. This past summer my family took a trip to Italy together and it was so fun to experience new cultures, enjoy delicious foods, and explore new cities. I also prioritize exercise, such as running and yoga, to maintain a healthy balance in my life.
