Nordic Aqua presents at DNB Carnegie Nordic Seafood Conference

24 September 2026, Oslo - Nordic Aqua presented an update on the Chinese Atlantic salmon market and the company's operations in Ningbo at the DNB Carnegie Nordic Seafood Conference.

Thank you to DNB Carnegie for the opportunity to present Nordic Aqua and share our perspective on the continued development of the Chinese salmon market. The growing importance of China was highlighted by several speakers at the conference, with fresh Atlantic salmon imports reaching 40,900 tonnes in Q2 2026, an increase of 25% year-on-year.

Nordic Aqua is at the right place at the right time, with its RAS facility in Ningbo already at a full run-rate of 8,000 tonnes HOG per year. The company has been producing, harvesting and selling Atlantic salmon in China since its first harvest in April 2024 and has produced more than 14,300 tonnes live weight since production started. Located close to major Chinese consumer markets, the facility enables Nordic Aqua to supply fresh, locally produced Atlantic salmon to a growing market, with a planned expansion pathway towards 20,000 tonnes of capacity.
