American Campus Communities Recognized at 2025 P3 Awards for Innovative University Housing Partnerships AUSTIN, Texas - Oct. 23, 2025 - American Campus Communities (ACC), the nation's largest owner, developer and manager of student housing, has been recognized with top honors at the 2025 P3 Awards for its partnership with the University of Utah. The project earned the award for Best Education & Higher Education Project, celebrating excellence in public-private partnerships (P3s) across North America. The recognition underscores ACC's leadership in creating innovative, student-centered housing solutions through long-term university partnerships that prioritize affordability, sustainability and academic success. At the University of Utah, ACC developed a $155 million, 1,400-bed residential community through its American Campus Equity (ACE) program-the university's first-ever P3 housing initiative. The project, slated for Fall 2026 occupancy, combines risk-mitigated financing with sustainable, community-oriented design to help the university expand its residential experience without incurring new debt. ACC was also named a finalist for Best Operational Project for the Meadows Apartments at Princeton University. "This recognition reflects how thoughtful partnerships can shape the future of campus living," said Jamie Wilhelm, executive vice president and chief development officer at American Campus Communities. "When universities and private partners come together with shared vision and accountability, we can deliver transformative housing solutions that are both financially sustainable and student-centered." The P3 Awards, hosted annually by Haymarket Media's Partnerships Bulletin, celebrate innovation, collaboration and excellence in public-private infrastructure delivery across sectors, including education, transportation and healthcare.
