This year, 64 water samples were collected and analyzed for Lead. On July 14th, results came back indicating 10 of the 64 sample sites exceeded the "Action Level" for Lead. This does NOT mean every property that receives drinking water from Richton Park has lead. It DOES mean that you should understand how to reduce your exposure to lead through water.
Richton Park is focused on protecting the health of every household in our community; however, lead from service lines and lead plumbing and fixtures can dissolve or break off into water and end up at the faucet. If Village officials tested your home/building, you have been notified of the results.
Also, keep in mind that drinking water is not the only potential source of lead exposure, since lead can be found in air, soil, and paint.
